The Palace of Arts is a place where tradition and avantgarde can coexist and interact fruitfully in all branches of the arts. The building is part of the new developing cultural centre of Budapest. The imposing structure of the building covers a ground area of 10.000 square metres on the Pest side of Lágymányos Bridge, next to the National Theatre.

ACCREDITATION

The 14th Congress of the International Pediatric Nephorlogy Association is accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) to provide the CME activity for medical specialists. The EACCME is an institution of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS), www.uems.net.

FINAL PROGRAMME / ABSTRACT BOOK

The Final Programme will be handed out at the registration desk. The abstracts for the congress will be available online and at the registration desk.

COMMERCIAL EXHIBITION

The exhibition will be open from Saturday, 1 September until Tuesday, 4 September. Delegates will have the opportunity to meet representatives from a number of publishers, pharmaceutical and diagnostic equipment companies at their stands to discuss new developments and receive up-to-date product information.

INTERNET DESK

Internet access is available during the congress opening hours free of charge at the exhibition area, on the first floor.

DRESS CODE

Business attire is recommended during the Congress. Dark or evening suite for the men, evening or cocktail dress for the ladies for the Gala Dinner, and casual dress during the tours.

CLOAKROOM

There is a manned cloakroom available behind the Registration Desk and operating during the Congress hours free of charge.

MEALS

Free tea and coffee will be available during the meeting. Box lunch is included in the registration fee.

INVITATION LETTER

An official invitation letter will be sent to participants who may need it to obtain visa or funding, etc. on individual request. It does not constitute a commitment to provide any financial support for travelling and staying expenses.

VISA

Most Europeans do not require an entry visa for Hungary. Please consult the Hungarian Embassy or Consulate nearest to you for special details relating to Visas or alternatively you can visit the website of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs: www.mfa.gov.hu

INSURANCE

The registration fee does not include provision of any insurance. Participants are advised to travel with valid personal travel insurance.

BUDAPEST

TRAVEL BY PLANE

Budapest has direct flight connection with every capital of Europe and other major cities and hubs in Europe and world-wide as well. Besides the Hungarian National Airlines (MALÉV), the major Airlines are also presented in Budapest. Any point in the world can be reached to and from Budapest. Budapest Ferihegy Airport has three terminals roughly 28 kilometres from the city centre. Besides the major airlines since 2004 several low cost airlines have been running their flights between Budapest and the large European cities (Wizzair, Germanwings, EasyJet, SkyEurope, Air-Berlin, Snowflake). PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

You can use all public transportation in Budapest wearing your badge during the congress period (31 August - 4 September). Please show Your congress badge to the controllers if requested.

PARKING

If you drive a personal or rented car, always try to park at a guarded parking lot and do not leave any valuables in the car. Please note that Budapest is divided into paying areas, with one parking meter in each street. The maximum parking time duration is 2 hours, but the tariffs can be different.

Paying parking lots (open-air or garage) are available at the congress venue.

CURRENCY

The Forint (HUF), the official national currency, is convertible. The exchange rates applied in Budapest banks, official exchange offices and hotels may vary. All the major credit cards (VISA, EC/MC, American Express, Diners) are accepted in Hungary in places displaying the emblem at the entrance.

TIPPING

There are no hard rules for tipping in Hungary. If you are satisfied with the service, a 10% tip is customary, particulary in a taxi, restaurant or café with table service.

ELECTRICITY

The voltage in Hungary is 230 V, 50 Hz AC.

CLIMATE

Because of Hungary’s continental climate the end of August, beginning of September is still summery. The average temperature is 22-28 C°, while 15-22 C° during the night. Humidity is rather low, however rainy days may be expected.

CHILDREN

No person under the age of 18 years is allowed to visit the commercial exhibition area of the congress.

ANIMALS

No animals, with the exception of registered guide dogs, may be brought into the congress venue at any time.
