As secretary general of the International Pediatric Nephrology Association I welcome You all to the 14th Congress of IPNA in Budapest, Hungary. It is my privilege and honour to invite all IPNA members, pediatricians, nephrologists, urologists and other professionals from around the world to participate at the 14th Congress of IPNA.
It is the first time that this congress shall be held in Hungary. This reflects the long lasting history and activity of nephrology and pediatric nephrology by Hungarian clinicians and scientists.
IPNA, founded 36 years ago, holds its congress every three years, additional to smaller workshops and engagement in regional congresses in all continents. IPNA has nearly 1600 members in nearly 100 countries. Its journal gPediatric Nephrologyh is distributed in 300 libraries additional to online access to more than 2000 libraries from around the world.
The congress includes keynote lectures, plenary sessions, symposia, free communications and a large variety of poster sessions. The broad spectrum of renal diseases will be addressed by outstanding speakers from around the world.
IPNA makes a huge effort to support younger scientists, particularly from areas in the world with limited financial resources, to participate at this congress. Special fellowships are implemented. The chairmen of this congress have made a huge impact and effort to guarantee the success. The advancement of clinical and basic science in Pediatric Nephrology promises an exciting event, which additionally shall give the delegates the opportunity to discover this wonderful city and the country of Hungary.
